FORMULA-R SPECIFICATIONS

Formula-R is a category designed to provide a place for "Classic" F3 and F2

chassis to race together with fair rules, parity and reduced expenditure.

Australian Formula 2 ( Aluminum Chassis, Pre 1990 )

As per original specs Carburetor 1600cc SOHC @ 8500 rpm, Min weight 500kg

Alternatively *Carburetor 2000cc @ 7000 rpm, Min weight 500kg

Post 1990 F2 chassis add 25kg if fitted with 2000cc engine.

Australian Formula 3 ( Carbon Fiber, 1990 - 2001 )

Fuel injected 2000cc - 26mm restrictor @ 6750 rpm, Min weight 550kg

Fuel injected 2000cc - 24mm restrictor @ 6750 rpm, Min weight 500kg

Alternatively *Carburetor 2000cc @ 7000 rpm, Min weight 550kg

The intention is to allow engine/chassis options that give

owners leeway to use cost effective engines in place of more expensive

legacy designs. For example, either a F2 or F3 chassis can be equipped with

Chassis Min weights are used to help balance the aerodynamic advantage of post
