iRace - Oran Park , Narellan Australia The run up to this Round was easily a scramble with the Christmas break slowing down preparations markedly. Formula Tasman was simply dominated by the Choons again putting on an excellent 1,2 finish between Father David and son Robert. Sam Dale experienced a mechanical failure in his Formula 4000 leaving the Dallara'a to run amuck blitzing the field. Meanwhile Glen Lynch and Warwick Robertson held the midfield with Vince Evans improving and getting up to speed. Terry Robertson got in some good laps in Race 3 with his Sirch 297. The few closed body cars in the race were never looking to challenge the Choons F3 cars and found themselves barely able to stay ahead of the midfield F3 chassis. Importantly lap times for the F3 chassis continue to fall as practice and experience begin to cement for those striving to improve their privateer efforts. On a side note this round of iRace had a healthy number of entrants and proved that Rod Dale's momentum continues and remains a serious venue for motorsport. Since the CAMS state round next weekend has insufficent numbers at this point it will likely be cancelled. As such this round just completed was the FINAL meet for this challenging circuit and significant chapter in motorsport. For me, I was just getting the hang of it and will miss being able to get more of a 'grip' on the esses and the flip flop :) Next Round - iRace Morgan Park -Warwick QLD 20-21 March
